In the big kitchen, Ah Wan the head chef, her sous chef and her team of student helpers have been busy at work since 8am, chopping, and cutting, preparing the meal for the entire village.

Boys are assigned kitchen chores just like girls would involve themselves at the field. These two boys are peeling garlics for the stir-fried cabbage dish. The balance would go into making the chili belachan dips.
The hood like object is actually the lid for the wok. It is so massive that it is suspended via a small pulley from the ceiling.
