Gastronomy Heaven

It is a working weekend. Burberry stores will switch over to SAP starting from next Monday. Today we started our pilot run with just two stores at Sheraton and IFC. I got to the store two hours earlier as I was forced to vacate my room as the cleaning lady came to do her round. With 2 hours to kill at the posh and expensive shopping area in Tsim Sa-Tsui, I decided to visit my old haunt during my time of working here 3 years ago - The Harbour Center at Canton Road which is crowded with branded shops with beautiful merchandise but astronomical pricetags.

Then I walked past a very chic Vietnamese restaurant that instantly drew me in with its sweet jasmine white and sunny atmosphere. Inspired by my parents' next holidy destination Saigon, I opted for a bowl of chicken poh with rice noodles. The finale was this chocolate merinque sandwich with brandy sponge cake, served in a white china dish lined with four dark chocolate glazed pistacho nuts surrounded by warm vanilla sauce. This is a quite a pricy dessert but surely the best I have ever tasted in decades
