A Day in the life of a Nanny

7:00am Jayden gatecrashed into Aunty Wendy's room to say "hello". It was not just any hello. It was a hello with gusto, so loud that you had to get up.

7:30am Mommy dressed Jayden and fed Chloe. No sign of Aunty Wendy in the living room. Little Jayden came in again and insisted that Aunty Wendy sit up to listen to his stories about his birthday present. Tornado hit South Perth last night and the temperature dropped to 9C. Aunty Wendy woke up a few times in the night but the plan to sleep in was shattered when you have a sociable 3 year-old nephew in the house.

7:50am Mommy packed two kids into the car. Jayden will be dropped off at the daycare. She was going to send in Chloe's birth certificate.

8:03am I was switching channel while drying my hair. The news in Perth were kinda interesting. Prime Minister Johnny Howard apologized for the increase in oil price. Some jerks placed rat poisons in a school compound and a squad had to come in to clean it up. In the health news section, apparently eating canned food is as nutritous as fresh food. I also learnt that Winston Churchill suffered from Bipolar disorder and he nicknamed his depression "Black Dog"

8:40am Australian fresh bread and cheese are simply yummy. I likethe coffee bags here and decided to treat myself with the vanilla flavoured one. Feeling a bit goggy due to lack of good sleep.

9:20am Checked my inbox. One mail was from my client, two from my community service group and a couple of junk mail. I will reward anyone who can tell me how to stop those spam mail on penis elongation. They are such pests.

9:30am Mommy was back early. I was impressed with Australian government's efficiency but it turned out that she has forgotten one signature so she had to go back again tomorrow. We made tea and chatted about the games we played as children. Apparently we used to play this silly game imitating owl when we were still staying in our old house. Then she told me once that I lectured Sister S when she was small. I said if she continued to be naughty, she would grow up to become only a movie star. We laughed so hard. It was so silly but was good memory.

11:50am Mommy fed Chloe again and after which decided to fry some meehoon for lunch. I was trying to do some work but utterly lack inspiration. TV 9 was showing this Dr.Phil ( something like Ophra ) trying to mend broken bridges between a mother and her daughter. There are just far too many commercials on the Australian TV about weight loss and vitamins.

4:00pm Mommy finished cooking dinner and went off to pick Jayden from day school. Jayden did some painting today. I think his painting is quite good considered he is not even 3 year old. In the painting Mommy is protrayed as the long thin one of the left side, and Daddy is the bigger blob on the right. Daddy occupies more space in the picture and according to his teacher, it showed also the importance of daddy in this little boy's heart. He drew everyone with two tiny round eyes. His mommy told him his self-protrait looked a bit like alien and I think he got a bit upset.

6:00pm. Children were bathed, dinner was cooked, and baby Chloe was sound asleep. Aunty Wendy was not very productive with her client's work today though she did a fair bit as Chloe's nanny. Must be the cold weather.

7:30pm. The whole family was fed, dishes were done and kids were sent to bed. How efficient. Aunty Wendy is thinking hard of what to blog. She hoped weather tomorrow would be better so that she can jog. Otherwise she could not fit into her tight tops and hit the pub anymore. She is starting to miss her barley at the mamak and the kopi kao kao at the kopitiam.

Aunty Wendy can do some yoga to refresh spirit and use up some extra fat.
